Questions

I just went to my local junkyard and asked if they had any 350's. They had one. It was out of the car it came from and it ran (supposedly). It had Edelbrock valve covers, Edelbrock carb and the guy said it sounded like a big cam in it but he wasn't sure. When I asked for the price he said $900. Ouch! I can get a remanufactured 396 for $960. Does that seem a little high?

How much does the price go down on a truck when the engine numbers aren't matching with the truck? I want to get a remanufactured engine but my dad is stuck on keeping the numbers matching. Is it a good idea?
