Upgrade Questions
Gentlemen,
I'm new to the forum, seems to be a lot of great info and knowledge about these trucks(67-72 pickup) here so I have some questions. Just bought a 67 swb c10 truck. VERY solid but it's a 250 six, three on the tree. Have a 350 I plan to put in and would like to install 700r4 auto trans. Is this a difficult swap (crossmember and such) and will I need a computer to operate the tranny as I assume it's electricly shifted? Also I want to install power disk brakes and power steering, is it as simple as going to the salvage yard and taking these parts off a 71 or 72 and bolting them right on mine if I get the steering colum too? Is it true that 73 to 79 parts are the same as 71 and 72. I would like to do these things using salvage yard parts instead of buying these high dollar aftermarket kits, what am I up against?
