Very dumb lockout question

This one should be easy for you guys. I'm putting some Warn 9590's on my '79 K20, until about an hour ago I didn't even know how lockouts worked. I stood there playing with them until I figured it out. Anyway the hubs are slightly used, I printed out the instructions off their website, they're a little vague, at least for me. I'm converting from full-time, what I need to know is this: Does that huge spring that was behind the big splined slug in the full time hub need to go back on behind the new hub body? I'm thinking no, but I'm not sure. The instructions say nothing about any springs. Thanks.
