New guy from Pittsburgh, PA with a '69 C-10
Hey all! I've been lurking on this board for almost a year now, but now that i finally have a good head of steam on my truck project, i figured I'd get some pics up and introduce myself and my truck.
The truck is a low miler that supposedly saw a lot of farm use and then got parked in the barn sometime in the late 90's. It's pretty solid, but with lot's of good "patina" (rust) and "character marks" (dents). It barely ran, which i later found out was due to several flat cam lobes. The motor mounts were no longer holding the engine in, and the ears on the trans that hold the mount were snapped off. Though, i still don't feel that i was ripped off at $1500.00 for a truck this solid, original, and complete in this part of the country. So far I've lowered it with 3" springs in the front and 4" springs in the back, adjustable track bar, and drop shocks all around, refinished the original wheels and added some used pep boys whitewalls, removed the 200 lb farmer rear bumper, and replaced all u-joints, carrier bearing, and trans yoke in preparation for a 400 small block/th200-4r swap. Here are some random pics of the progress.
