How bad did I thrash my hatch, DIY 2 fix,

I screwed up really good on this one. Was so worried about getting the truck out of the uphill backyard cesspool of sinking clay that I forgot to lower the hatch. Caught my okie extension cord in a tree setup, the cord gave as much as she could then the top broke. Is it possible to fix this where it will be solid and or better than new sttregnth wise?? EDIT: please become a paid subscriber to post WTB's...
