Testing spark plug wires is easily done with an ohm meter. resistance will vary, but comparing readings to other wires in the set works. Any reading approaching infinity indicates a bad wire.
This test does not work for cracks or defects in the insulation if for example, a plug wire spark jumps to ground.
An ohm meter can also be used on testing the module. I usually compare to known good module values. This is not a conclusive test but works in most cases. The other method that I use is to spin up a test distributor in my distributor machine. That is the best way that I know of testing a module.
