I've about had it!

With my son's truck, that is..... stopped the air from getting into the fuel line, so I thought all is good..... Drove it up the street and back when it died again. Now it will only run for a few seconds if/after I poor gas down the carb..... It has a just purchased Q-jet that I saw running on a 350 before I bought it. The engine is a 305, hei, I know it's getting fuel thanks to the glass filter..... ideas?
