Turbo 400 Trans Dipstick Tube

Hi Guys -

My son and I purchased a Turbo 400 Trans for the '69 Stepside he is restoring. The problem is, the trans didn't have a dipstick tube. We purchased a Mr. Gasket (chrome) dipstick and tube from an auto parts store for a Turbo 400, but it doesn't fit too well and it doesn't extend out into the engine compartment enough to check the fluid. Also, it doesn't fit into the transmission grommet very tight. I would bet that it would leak fluid once it is put under pressure.

Is there a longer dipstick tube for the Turbo 400 in the C10's? If so, are they still available through vendors?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks - NoNeck
