Flex plate and tranny swap question

Board dudes,

I'm swapping out a Saginaw 3-speed manual for a 700R4 automatic behind a small block 307 in my '69 C20. I'm thinking I need the flex plate (or its aftermarket equivalent) that would have been used were my truck originally an automatic tran.

Other than matching the starter to flex plate's ring, mating the 700R4 to my 307 is a pretty straight-foward deal, right?

Any observations or expertise would be appreciated.

Thanks!

DTT
