Question 59 Apache tire size

Started on my 59 Apache, am having the No Limit Engineering Wide Ride IFS installed. This should drop the truck 4 to 5".
Now I need advice on wheel and tire size...I'd like a nice aggresive low profile look, but I'm really aiming for something milder...a little more retro/custom, not the really big wheels with ultra thin tires like you see on some of the more modern trucks.
I currently have 255/70/R15's on 10" rims on the front and 275/60/R15's on the back...obviously way to much rubber exposed.
What overall diameter should I be going for on the tires, they currently measure 28" which with a 15" rim means I've got 6.5" of rubber exposed.
Does anyone know what the stock tire diameter was for this truck? These tires just look too big.
Any information will be appreciated,
Thanks,
Randy
