ghost problem with new motor

so i just built a new 350 for my 69 cst dropped it in fired it up and now it wont act right it wont time at all ive re dropped the distributor and its dead on the chain is dead on also ive re adjusted the valves nothing still it runs rough really rough hard to start wont idle unless i turn the idle all the way up and when i throw it into gear it dies instantly!!! im exhausted on every problem im stuck on this one and need an outside perspective my next move is going to be replacing plug wires maybe not enough spark idk if some one has a clue please do tell this is my first engine build by myself but i do have experience.....never seen anything like this
