Fuel Pump Problems

Ok so I recently put in a new holley mechanical fuel pump push rod style into my fresh crate engine. I was trying to start it up the other day and successfully got fuel to the carb float bowls and even got it to run for about 15 seconds.

Now I am not getting the fuel pump to work at all. I took off all my fuel lines and made sure there were no obstructions in the line. Every thing was clear except from the outlet from the fuel pump in the line there was a little bit of tree debris.

I am assuming my fuel pump must be fuel of junk and it is causing it not to work. I also rotated the inlet and outlet of the fuel pump to make hooking up my fuel lines easier.

So now I am wondering what I should do, should I just order another fuel pump or is there any way to tear mine down and clean it out and possible salvage it?
