Oil Pan drain plug - Big Block
I have a 69 dated 396 in my truck. We are getting very close to firing it for the first time
We have discovered a small problem though, we noticed this morning just a small drip every 2-3 min or so .. so we tried to tighten it. It just seems small, and like it is not tightening up good. I went to Advance Auto Parts and bought another one. The parts counter showed 1/2 20. We put this one in, .. same deal. My question is, would anyone know the correct size drain plug I need? Are the ones from Advance / Auto Zone just not the same quality as say a GM bolt? Bigger / heavier threads maybe? I'm really hoping the pan is not stripped out but honestly the bolt just feels too small. Your thoughts please? Thanks.
