Help with horn/ steering wheel needed

I have a 1972 GMC with the original saddle steering wheel.

My horn stopped working the other day and as I pulled it apart I found the metal disk that pops up and down was stuck. I noticed that it looks like my wheels is deformed into a more oval shape with what looks like a metal reinforcing ring has popped out and deformed.

LMC is out of the repair kit for these, anyone else make one? Do I need to get a new steering wheel or modify what i have? It worked for a while until one day I slammed it when someone was cutting over into my lane and it refused to work after that.

Any thoughts? I'm sure finding a saddle brown steering wheel will be difficult and I'd rather keep the original

Thanks

Bryan
