WooHoo! I drove my new '68 today

Well, only the fifty yards from my front yard to the back yard where the shop is, but still-it moved under it's own power.

I needed to get a battery and put some gas in. It started right up, just like when I first went and looked at it, but then there was zero gas so we had to dump a little in the carb. I did the same thing today so it would run for a minute 'till it picked up gas from the tank. It didn't want to run very good and was smoking like a demon, so I shut it off and found gas running out of the carb. I took the top off and found the float stuck. After I got that right, it started up and settled into an idle just like it's supposed to. It seems to run real well, no smoke or knocks. When I put it into gear I looked up at the mirror out of habit and noticed it was missing, then I took another look and saw that it has never had a mirror:

That's kinda weird, I think.

I found a fairly decent seat under the saddle blanket seat cover:

And the build sheet-most of it, anyways-confirming that it was a California truck originally:

Milo is ready to go for a ride. I told him it would be a couple weeks yet, but he seems unclear on the whole Space-Time Continuum thing. All he knows is that he saw it move, and he wants to go:

Good times!
