77 big ten handleing vs. 79 c10 handeling`

so i drove my 79 down the road for the first time last night, and i have to say it handles terrable compared to my big ten. did the big ten have differnt front springs?(i know they had heavy duty rear springs) if so enyone now where i can find a set. im also looking into addin a junk yard sway bar, polygraphite sway bar bushings, and new shocks all the way around. eny other suggestions to maky my 79 handle better? what do yall think about rear sway bars? will that help me much? i just wanna do whats the most worth while for this truck
