...transmission fluid.

My '67 c10 transmission has a leak since it's been sitting for a few months, parked on my driveway. Anyways, how can I identify what kind of transmission it is since my engine is a '78 350 short block, the PO may have used a different type of transmission. Anyways, I don't plan to rebuild the transmission, but merely fix the leak since the PO used RTV. Now, what is the best type of transmission gasket to use, where can I purchase this, and what's the torq. needed to tighten the bolts. Also, same question goes with the transmission filter. Last, what is the best transmission fluid (brand and type) for the transmission since I have no clue how many mileage it actually has. My '67 has been sitting for some time and I'd like to gather my supplies and spend a weekend in mid May to do this (since that's the only time I have to invest). Thanks in advance...
