introduction and question

Hi all, my name is Keith Winsor I live in Grande Prairie Alberta. I have loved these trucks for a long long time and recently been given one!
A friend of a friend had restored the 86 , new everything! new fenders, doors , box sides, inner fenders, rad support, battery tray. Other than the cab and box floor everything was replaced. Tow days before it was due to go to the paint shop it was t-boned sitting on a parking lot.
Passenger door is pushed in 18 inches, owner was devastated, insurance paid him out and the truck sat for two years.
He gave the truck to my friend because it had a rebuilt 454 installed that the friend wanted, condition was my friend had to take the truck, he took the truck and gave me the rest.
I have found a one ton 1985 that I am swapping all of the good sheet-metal on to, I want to make a daily driver crew cab and get rid of my 2005 dodge cummins.

Here is the question...
How much if any of the suspension from the half ton could be used on the one ton?
I want a cruiser not a work truck and was wondering if I could lower the ride height and soften the ride using the 1/2 ton stuff.
Both trucks are 2wd .

Sorry for the long intro.

Keith
