PS conversion saga-journey into insanity part 2-help pls

Well, I got the brackets working, the new pump fits perfectly in them and the whole unit into the truck BUT the pulley sticks out to far to align with any of my grooves on my harmonic balancer. Please see the pics below. I have two questions:

1. Does my truck have a short or long water pump and does it matter?
2. Do power steering pumps come with different size pulley shafts because when I put the pump in the brackets I am only 1 grooves length away but it sticks out too far to hook to anything? and I have 3 grooves down below but they are obscured in the pic by a belt laying across them,

I am losing my mind on this one. I need some last advice from this generous group.

I used the brackets from the van and just chopped of the piece that would have attached to the exhaust because my alternator already does so, have a look.

What are my options here?
