Re: What tools are in your truck at all times?

In one of my classics I keep a small tool kit in a storage cubby. It's got a screwdriver, small wrench set and ratchet / socket set with a short extension. It also has a small extinguisher, headlamp, first aid kit, fuses, 1 quart of oil, full size spare, jack, tire stop, lug wrench and small prybar / jack handle. I keep a spare ignition module on hand in that one because I've had one fail before with no notice.

In my DD Jeep I keep water, energy bars, full size spare, jack, lug wrench, blankets, fuses, folding shovel, 1 quart of oil, spare serpentine belt, medium size extinguisher, flashlight, first aid kit, jumper cables, tow strap and tie downs. I throw a small blow-molded tool kit in it for long trips.

My Suburban will eventually have most of the above as well as two or more halon extinguishers, a hi-lift jack, the full tool set that's already sitting in the garage, ready to go (hammers, screwdrivers, sockets, prybars, chisels, wrenches, pliers, etc.....), Bubba Rope and a few spare parts (like axle shafts). I'll probably keep some spare coolant and other fluids on hand too. It'll spend a fair amount of time off of paved roads where AAA can't go and cell phone coverage might be sparse.
