Here are some pics from over the last few months. Again, not a lot of progress, but what the hell... I'm only one guy.
Here's some door work. This front corner has got to be one of the most prone spots of these trucks for rust. After I had the doors acid dipped, there were some small pinholes in this bottom corner that I started to pick at very gingerly. I then decided that I may as well cut the outer skin off and I couldn't believe what i saw. Wish I had a pic of it. The sheetmetal had de-laminated so bad and the rust was so heavy here that it would have rusted thru in no time had it been left alone. In the second and third pictures, you can see the bottomside of the inner support- you can never get to this spot without cutting the door open, so I POR 15'd it. Can't find a finished product picture, either. It will certainly never rust out again in my lifetime. |
