An update on progress on my '86 SWB
Well. I've done a few more things on the '86 Since getting the 350 dropped in. I've started putting all my junkyard parts on, pedal pads, dash speakers (one was blown ) pulled all of the trim off today, Tried to repair someones half-A** job of blacking out the taillights.. tried to remove the paint.. didnt work.. so I rattle canned them black again, and just buffed the overspray off of the trim rings and screws. looks a little more professional now. I also shot my headlight trim (which was faded, white, and chalky) with some "chrome" paint. it comes out silver. they look 1000X better! I installed my junkyard window switch and pigtail, now my power windows work! I need to clean and polish the chrome tube JC whitney grille that I'm gonna be stuck with for a while. I might rattle can it flat black.. I also dug a little farther into the old 305... #1 Piston (the one with 60 lbs of compression) Was melted pretty badly... the rings were siezed into the piston... #7 had a broken ring, broken ring land.. bad.. Soon it'll be going to the scrap man... I dont believe it's worth anything to anyone due to the fact the cylinders are probably no longer round at all
Thats all for now.. here's a bad pic of the 350 installed..
