'63 C10 Steering wheel, horn, turn signal parts, install problems

I'm hoping someone here can help me out. When i bought my '63, there was a non stock chevy steering wheel installed from a later model truck. The upper column bearing which is also the contact for the horn was missing, as was all the turn signal components.

I have attempted to purchase all the missing pieces, and am using a grant steering wheel now with the '63 grant install kit.

The problem I am having is that I think parts may still be missing. I keep having problems with the turn sign switch. The metal contacts inside it keep getting bent or pushed out of position causing the rear lights to do all kinds of weird things when the blinkers are turned on. I know this is the problem, because when I replace the turn signal switch the blinkers work fine for a while, until they get damaged again. I've been able to bend them back and put them in the proper position from time to time, but they just go bad again later. I'm on my 3rd set of these things, and they aren't cheap!

Also, the grant steering wheel doesn't quite mount properly. The black hub that sits against the column and mounts to the steering wheel acts like it needs a spacer, because it rubs against the column, and is actually partially inside of the column. It also makes it harder to turn the wheel since it has resistance from contacting the steering column. I know this is not correct.

The problem is, I don't know what parts I'm suppose to have, so I'm assuming I am missing something. Here is the setup I have so far:
  • The turn signal switch is screwed inside the column. it's the correct '63 part, reproduction.
  • The turn signal cam is connected to the turn signal switch
  • There is a lower column mast bearing which sits inside the turn signal switch (i think this is from another vehicle, it fits but doesn't look like the correct part for a '63)
  • The upper column mast bearing/horn contact. This is a correct '63 reproduction part I purchased. this also sits inside the turn signal switch, above the lower column mast bearing. This actually touches the lower mast bearing if pressed in too hard and causes the horn to go off indefinitely. I had to cut a small piece of rubber to stop the upper and lower bearing from touching. I know this is not correct. The upper column bearing doesn't feel like it sits in the turn signal switch properly either.
  • Lastlly, I have the turn signal canceler attached to the back of the steering wheel. I purchased this piece as well, and I know its correct for '63

If anyone has any insight as to how to what pieces i may be missing, or what might be going wrong, I'd really appreciate it, because this is driving me crazy.
