Re: New Slippers
I think there's more to trucks than just lowered ones. I like to see both and this is one that looks great as is. It also is special enough that it deserves preservation. Sure, lowering can be reversed. But,it sure is a good bit of work. Those 70 series eliminate the purpose of lowering for the sake of filling in the wheel wells. There's a certain tradition to these trucks in owners giving them their loving personal touches. There were different looks through the decades and some that are timeless. This truck has that look and shows it proudly. I saw my first lowered 67-72s (Stepsides) in Northern CA in the '70s and caught that bug. But,I also was proud to own stock stance trucks, even C/20s with big/littles which gave them a good bit of rake.
A 4/6 drop is actually 3.5/6. When going to 6 in the rear you are limiting the truck's use due to having a mere inch or so of frame clearance. Not everyone wants to chop a frame for that extra inch. 5" gives a slight rake, which looks cool, allows you to haul a bit, tow, and is also where ECE draws the line for the Super Track bar to be required.
