trans advice please

Hi guys, could anyone advise us on a little problem we have. We have a 1979 350 4x4 blazer motor and auto gearbox fresh out of a wreck, we are installing it into a project, but only need 2wd. Can we simply remove transfer box and install a different tail section or would it be easier to go get a 2wd box, and which box would have a better final gear ratio. We will be using an axle from a BMW with a diff ratio of 3.5:1, (16'' wheels )any ideas of what revs we will be pulling at 80 >100 mph Regards c10rookie
