Getting after some rust w/ pics

Here's a few pics of the rust repair I started this morning. I just cam in to grab a bite then back out side.

The grill support is pretty bad at the fender mounts on both sides. So since I only have so much budget (what the wife lets me spend) I have to make due where I can.
I'm still a newbie at fabrication but I think I'm muddling through ok. I may not be good, but I'm slow. I still need to go back out and grind, finish welding and get a skim coat on. I also need to fix the mounting flange section, Then I'll move over to the other side and start over.
Any helpful critique or input? I'm all ears.
