all about carrier bearings
I need to know some stuff about carrier bearings....
there are 2 different types in the lmc catalog(pg 84) and on my trucks... one is real small and hangs from the top, and the other is an upside down "U" and bolts to the X member... the "U" type shows 2 different sizes 1/2-3/4 ton ?? that is the kind I have. I am converting my wifes 63 to an auto, so it needs a shorter front driveshaft, I have one off a 3 speed truck that looks like it will fit, but only half the carrier bearing is there... it looks to be a "U" type also, and I have no idea how to get it off... any comments-suggestions? thanks
