The 208 has a chain also, but is not full time. It has an aluminum case some what considered inferior but has a 2.61 low range while the 205 is 1.96 and the 203 is 2.0. The 208 also has a slip joint output for the rear driveshaft also considered a problem since the TC fluid will leak out if you remove the driveshaft and try to drive w/ the front axle only. All three were found behind autos and manual trannies. While lower gears are not available for the 205 the thing to do is to take the gear unit from a 203 and mate it inbetween a SM465/205 combo with an adapter from ORD and have some seriously low gears.

Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm |
