changed my oil, my first time since I bought it

so as you all know I have been posting about oil, tiny tic that developed and so on... Well i got around to changing the oil today.... Roller cam and lifters so I went with rotella 15-40 and a wix filter... so anyways, I noticed it was a quart and a 1/2 low after draining it.... I also noticed it was rather thin appearing to me. According to the records, since the build it is the third oil change from initial break in, which I did not do.. I bought the truck July 3rd and it had 500-700 miles on breakin, best guess... I was a tad concerned with how thin but didn't really detect any unusal particles or metal shavings, so I am thinking I am good.....

I did notice that the motor seems very smooth and some of the very tiny tic or odd sounds are gone...so I think that is a good thing....

I take it 5 quarts is about right with what appears to be the stock pan, right?

so we will see what this oil change brings as far as engine heat, sound and smoothness...
