Sending unit question...

Hi, I know it is probably here somewhere, but i just can't seem to find it...
I am trying to do a gas tank swap in my 63 SWB Stepside. As of now, I have a homemade tank, no sending unit, one fill tube, a vent hose, and one fuel line out to a mechanical fuel pump. I recently scavaged a 31 gallon fuel tank from a running 87 Blazer... What do all of those lines do that are sticking out of the sending unit / pump assembly? I am assuming all i need is one of those lines to feed the fuel pump. Do I need to buy another sending unit, or can I use this and just plug up the other lines? Which line do I need to connect my mechanical fuel pump to? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Sam
