Brake line gravel guard
I've been searching the old threads and my eyes are getting crossed! Can't find what I need there so here goes:
I'm making all new brake lines for my wrecker resto instead of buying a pre-made kit and want it to look as original as possible. I will be installing the gravel guard (looks like a spring wrapped around the line) on the brake lines but do not have any original lines to look at. How much of the brake line gets this gravel guard and do ALL of them use it? If I remember from other old cars I've seen, it stops a few inches from the ends near the fittings but does the rest of the line get it? In other words if you had 100 inches of brake line, would it get something like 96 inches of gravel guard? Thanks and pictures would not be turned down.
