Lumpy Idle Cam in 4.8L

I just recently sold my 1975 GMC with a 350 and a lumpy cam. It was a rust bucket and the motor was on its last leg but I still miss the sound of lumpy idle V8. Nothing crazy just a good sounding idle. I've been contemplating puting and exhaust on on my 2004 4.8L but without the cam I'm not sure I'm interested. How hard is it to put a cam in a 4.8? I assume you have to get the computer retuned too. Any recommendations on a cam or reasons why I should quite thinking about it?
