72 driveshaft question

I have a 72 lwb that has a 350 turbo trans in it. I am putting the running gear
from the 72 lwb on a swb frame and will be useing a 400 turbo trans out of a 77 c20. The yoke on the 400 is bolted to the output shaft to keep it from moving in and out. Can I just take the bolt out of the yoke and cut the front driveshaft down or will I need a different shaft?
Thanks Jim
