Post old memorys

One of my fathers first veichles was a 1947 chevy pick up. He bought it for $100 around 1971 or 2. at the time he lived in sacromento, California. The guy he bought it from said that some thing was wrong with the bearings in the 235 c.i. 6 cylinder engine. My father was 17 at the time he owned the truck. when he rebuilt the engine he really didn't take the whole thing apart. When seven mouths had pasted he had to drive up to springfield, oregon to go to his uncles funeral. his had called he back to California early. just north, near the Sac international air port, he heard a huge BANG! in the engine compartment. the cranck shaft of the old 6 cylinder blew out the side of the block.
