My new 1970 SWB K10
Well, it's official...
The truck was delivered this morning. Not sure what my plans are for it yet, but the truck was just to solid to pass up. The owner included a pile of paper and books on it's history, so I am going through all of it now - getting up to speed on what's been done to it. So far I know it was originally purchased, and spent most of it's life in Clark County Nevada. Then was sold to the guy I got it from in 1999, where it lived in Vista CA. The front D-44 axle has been upgraded to disc brakes, and after market hubs along with heavy duty axle shafts. The rear axle is a 12 bolt, and according to the last owner and receipts I see it's also posi. The engine is a 350 from what I'm told. Still need to research the numbers. The transmission is a SM-465 4 speed. The transfer case is a NP-205. I also got the rear tailgate, and all the hinge hardware. Plus the original chrome rear bumper and brackets. The camper is a very nice camper made by a San Diego company called "Callen Camper Co.", and are pretty respected for building tough custom campers. I'm already calling it snowball 1. because it's all white. 2. because things will probably snowball, as far was what I do to it. Well, enough already. Here are the pictures.
