My compressor has been leaking oil
Not very much, just a drip here and a drop there. Just enough to let me know there's a leak. I usually don't use a lot of air, and my system is pretty tight, so it don't really run a lot. Yesterday, though, I was doing some sandblasting and the compressor ran quite a bit. I kept my eye on it and there was defiantly more oil coming out. Finally, the level was defiantly getting lower according to the sight glass so I decided to shut it down and analyse the situation more closely.
This is the compressor I have: ![]() I finally found the culprit. I kept looking at the sight glass, but I should have been looking AT the sight glass! ![]() It had a crack in it! When I tried to take it out, it broke right in half (I saw this coming and had drained the oil) ![]() I went to Campbell Huasfield's website and ordered a new one. I hope it's better than the plastic one that broke. The picture on the website looks like it's metal. It's always something ![]()
