250 block identification help
Pulled the casting numbers on my 250 to see if it's at least from the right era as my truck. I got " CON 2 E228 " above the starter and " 392968 GM 54 " by the disty.
The best info I can find is 3921968 being from a Chevy/Olds 64-76 230-250, but I'm missing the 1 as you can see in the pics. I assume the E228 is May 22, 1968 (or 1958, or 1978). Any thoughts?
