New defective fuel sending unit

I bought a new fuel sending unit about two months ago from Classic Parts. I went to finally install it tonight...the outlet for the sending unit doesnt line up with the inlet for the fuel line.

1). Has anyone ever had this problem before and can it be re-aligned without breakin the neck.

2). Hows Classics customer service? My invoice says return policy gives a limit of 30 days, after that its a store credit. I just want a fuel sending unit that works but dont feel like i should pay anymore money for shipping back their defective part and having them ship another one that hopefully works...

Heres a pic that shows how the outlet is not perfectly horizontal like my original one.
