Square Body Burb Tank In Longbed?

I was thinking,I never heard anyone doing this and wondered if it's doable. I have the larger tank w/skid-plate in my '91 Suburban I'm parting and wonder if I could make it work in my '72 K2500. It now has the two saddle tanks and I'm thinking to go Fenderside with it. The 'Burb tank is 34 gallon,so I'd also eliminate the stock tank so I can put speaker boxes I have back there.
Has anyone used a 73-91 Suburban or Blazer tank in a 67-72 longbed? They are bigger than 67-72 'Burb/Blazers,which fit shortbeds. It seems safe to assume a larger tank could work in a longbed.
