Motor Facelift
Put a different air cleaner and valve covers on my motor. Been looking for some of the "GM" cast valve covers and landed some at a local swap meet recently for a killer price. Was never real happy with the chinese cast valve covers I had, not too mention just a little too much polish for my liking so I painted the covers a met gray along with the new 4" air cleaner and also modified it to drop over the carb as far as it could. Also repainted the AC compressor, alt, master cylinder, and vacuum assist can to match. Also installed a real PCV into the drivers side valve cover and got one of those radiator covers from Brothers. Subtle change, but I'm happy with it.
Also finally got rid of the aluminum finned tube type transmission cooler that I had mounted on my frame that didn't keep the trans cool enough (I have a gauge). Put a big cooler in front and also ran it through the radiator.......lots better! Now I wish me headers didn't look so sh*tty! Had them coated but it hasn't held up. Before: ![]() After: ![]()
