Installing a I6

a few years back I picked up two I6 engines. I'm looking to install one of thim into a Short Step project.

All i have is the engine and each have an automatic flywheel attached.

What is the easiest transmission to use with this engine? auto or manual?

Turbo 350 or three speed?

I also have access to the three on the tree that came out of a 68 307 truck. If I decide to go manuel will this bolt up with a clutch and flywheel change?

Would the flywheel from the 307 work?

I also have access to several Turbo 350's a 400 and even an early four speedd

Just looking to make something to putt around with.
