Communal truck. 1971 Cheyenne

Had this show up at my house the other day. It's a 71 Cheyenne, A/C cab, long bed truck. Someone ripped the A/C housing off the firewall but the dash is mint.

This will be a shared truck. Plans are to fix the rust, shorten it and lower it. I want to keep it simple but my friend tends to complicate things. If anyone has suggestions on the best way to shorten it, or anything I'm open to almost all ideas.

I think the previous body man more of a sculpture than a metal man. The A pillar has bondo, and so does the front fender. It will need rockers inner and outer on the driver's side and outer on the passenger side.
