driveline shop recomendation.. from me.
First off I'm in no way affiliated with this business just thought I would post on how i saved several hundred bucks on my project.. while scavanging around my local pick a part I found a nice driveline from an 73-80 ish pickup that was too long for my long bed 55 project but I figured I could have it shortened for cheaper than the 500 I was quoted for a newly built one by another shop, and while looking through some more I found another with the right slip yoke that I needed so I got a yoke and line for $47. And then took it to Dicks driveline here in phoenix az where he shortened it and pressed new joints in for the cash sum of $80. Resulting in a $127.00 driveline, which is quite a savings for me considering all the things I have redone already.. lol , I've yet to use it on the road but I couldn't wait to get home and drop it in to check fitment and it went in like it should. Now it will still be a few months before its on the road where I can give it a test review but for the money I could take him two more and get spares made. for any of the locals that remember Dick that retired and left well he couldn't take being at home so he's back working. At 27th street and mcdowell. Be warned give yourself a few extra mins when you drop off or pick up because he's probably gonna chat with you for a bit. But he's a nice guy so its ok.
