Is it bad form to use rhinoliner/hurculiner?

So I'm deciding how I want to go about fixing up the bed of my new project (69 C10 longbed) and I was wondering is it frowned upon to use rhinoliner or hurculiner on an old truck like this?

My plan was to bang out as many dents as I could, remove the tiny bit of rust that's there, use bondo to fill in whatever I need to, sand, get it primed and painted but have them just prime the inside of the bed not paint it. Then I figured I'd probably save some money and go with hurculiner, I've read a lot of good reviews on them. Am I going about that generally the right way? This is my first foray into a project like this so tell me if I'm way off base.

Oh, and the reason I want the bed lined is because I plan to be doing a lot of outdoors stuff with this truck and I'm looking for functionality as much as I am for looks.
