Below bed spare tire carrier w/ relocated gas tank ?

Has anyone ever looked into installing a spare tire carrier assembly below the rear bed of the 69-72 Blazer/Jimmy and moving the gas tank to one side or the other of the driveshaft, just like the Tahoes and many other late model SUV's have ? Full size Toyota truck/SUV have a spare tire storage design that hoists the spare up tight against a brace directly beneath the rear bed floor with a single chain/cable winch, simple and effective. It would probably require moving the rear frame cross member back a little, and would definitely require a custom long & narrow fuel tank below floor to left side of drive shaft with exhaust routed down right side. Not sure if the 26 gallon 4 dr. Tahoe tank would fit in the early blazer space or not. Sure would free up a massive amount of cargo space inside, especially with a fold & tumble rear seat from a 77-91 Blazer.
