'67 FWD broken front Leaf Spring
My yard truck is a '67 four wheel drive. Last winter I broke the front primary leaf on the drivers side right at the front eye. A local check of boneyards did not yield any results, so I welded it. It held up for several storms until it broke again. Since I am a pretty crude stick welder at best I brought it to my neighbor who used to weld for a living. He did not want to weld it, but I bribed him into it, it broke when I pulled it down off of jack. :lol So I jacked it up pulled it apart and welded it again with my stick. I got through the rest of winter last year, I don't want to make spring welding my weekend occupation, so I suppose I have to do it right.
I checked with the local spring shops and I cannot get one locally. If I order one from LMC or some such I have to order all three pieces which will add shipping weight and cost that I do not need. I only need the main leaf. I am in New England. Anyone know where I can procure just a primary leaf? Thx
