'76 c10 gauge cluster swap

Hi all,
Trying to replace my '76 chevy c10 idiot light cluster with what I think is a (73-75) factory tach cluster with gauges (because it has a mechanical oil pressure gauge and ammeter, not volts). The FAQs cover the pre-73s, but not these. This is asking a lot, so I will not be surprised if I get no responses.

The principal is straightforward - rearrange the cluster plug pins to support the new cluster but it's not a clean swap. Any light shed on the following would be very much appreciated:

1. The ammeter gauge in the "new" plug calls for 2 pins (wires) - a black wire (ground?) and a black and white wire - that the old harness does not have.

2. What do I do with the orange generator/ignition wire and the brown generator wire, both of which are not included in the new gauge cluster? Do they now go to the ammeter or removed?

Thanks for anything, however trivial.

Peter
