Solved: Aux input for my stock radio!

I really wanted to keep the stock look of my dash, and dont like the placement of an aftermarket radio. And all I wanted extra was to be able play my Ipod thru the stock radio. Didn't like the available options nor even knew if they would work on my old radio. So I got out my breadboard...

I took out the tape deck and unplugged the whole harness. The wire diagram is stamped on the case of the control module. The ones we're after are,

2- L Audio
3- R Audio
4- Audio Common (ground)
5- 12v
6- Tape on (signal that tells the radio that a tape is playing)

So you're going to solder in an 1/8 inch stereo jack on the 3 audio wires and a spst toggle switch between 5 and 6. In normal tape playing, T-ON is a 5vdc logic level but the control unit appears to be only looking for a signal on that wire so the 12v works.

Easy as that. (do this at your own risk...)

I took everything out of the tape deck and lined it with fabric and put the shell back in the dash.
