Auto column shifter tabs? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I really do not know what to call them but on my 64 auto column there are 3 metal tabs that hold the shift indicator to the actual steering column. 2 of the tabs are broken off and one of the broken ones were found. Has anyone ever tried welding these back on or have any idea on a good fix. Will it maybe interchange with some other older chevy car part because from what I have read these auto truck columns are hard to come by.I have tried doing some searching online but have sort of come up dry.
