WARNING.....read about this practical joke

Check this out. I'll never pump gas again without checking this.

I went to get gas on my lunch break yesterday. When I got there, I opened the gas hatch door and removed the gas cap. I then inserted my credit card and selected the octane I wanted. I then pulled the gas pump nozzle out the bracket that holds it and lifted the lever. I then turned to put the gas nozzle in the gas tank. Guess what...........some jackass scumbag had put the nozzle back on the pump when he was done and then pulled the handle all the way and locked it. Just to make sure I've made this clear, the handle was pulled and locked, like you would do after you put the nozzle in the tank and walk away to clean your windows or check the oil.

What happened next was my life flashed before my eyes. Before I got the nozzle in the tank, gas was shooting out the nozzle at full blast.........it was locked on the 3rd latch. It hit the side of the car and sprayed all over my pant legs, up both my arms to my elbows and on my shoes. There was just shy of a gallon of gas on the pavement below my feet by the time I got the latch undone. Lets put it this way.........they could here me swearin' inside the Texaco station.

The guy from inside came out and we checked it out. There is no way to do this without stopping the pump by inserting the nozzle back in the pump when you are done and then purposely locking the handle. Some people are incredible. I'm sure someone was thinking this would be hilarious but I doubt they would've thought that, if it had happened to them or someone they loved...........like mom.......or how about the little old lady on the corner. Grandma would've dropped the nozzle on the ground and walked inside. Then the local HAZMAT crew would've had a mess to clean up if the city block didn't explode first. What the hell is wrong with some people????????????????

Other than ruined shoes, I'm all right. Don't like to think about what could've happened.
